Sharing Reset GPIOs in the Linux Kernel - Krzysztof Kozlowski, Linaro

Sign up or log in to save this to your schedule, view media, leave feedback and see who's attending!

The Linux kernel GPIO framework allows sharing GPIOs between multiple devices, however it does not provide any further abstractions when such devices set GPIO to conflicting states. This is quite a common case for devices being on the same bus and sharing the reset or shutdown GPIOs. If one device goes to sleep first, should it or should it not assert the reset line, knowing that the other device might be still operating?

The talk will present existing approaches to solve this problem, like regulators and reset framework, and on-going work of handling this via GPIOs.
